General Osteopathy
Whole-body care for the full range of musculoskeletal conditions.

How general osteopathy works
Osteopathy starts from the principle that the body works as a whole — meaning that pain or dysfunction in one area is often connected to restrictions or compensations elsewhere. Rather than treating the symptom in isolation, we look at the whole picture: your posture, movement patterns, medical history, and lifestyle, to find and address the underlying cause.
A typical appointment begins with a thorough assessment before any treatment takes place. Your osteopath will observe how you move, use their hands to identify areas of tension or restriction, and discuss what they find with you before agreeing on an approach. Treatment combines ligamentous, fascial, cranial, and visceral techniques with joint mobilisation and soft tissue work. Where appropriate, manipulation may also be used — this is always discussed with you and only carried out with your consent.
Osteopathy for adults
Whether you're desk-bound, physically active, or somewhere in between, the demands of daily life take a cumulative toll on your body. Back, neck, and pelvic pain are the most common reasons people come to see us, but osteopathy addresses the full range of musculoskeletal conditions — including injuries and strains affecting the hips, knees, ankles, feet, tailbone, ribs, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hands.
Osteopathy as you get older
As we age, the body becomes less able to absorb and compensate for the strains, injuries, and postural habits accumulated over a lifetime — and discomfort that was manageable at 40 can feel quite different at 60 or 70. We regularly treat patients in their 70s and beyond, helping them manage conditions like arthritis and maintain greater freedom of movement through treatment, exercise advice, and lifestyle guidance. Getting older doesn't have to mean putting up with pain.
